Whole-House Water Filter Installation

So you want to filter all the water coming into your home?

No biggie. Here at Easy Plumbing Knowledge we can certainly help.

So, let's get started friends:

Tools You Will Need:

The tools you will need to install a whole-house filter include a bucket, an adjustable wrench set, a  pipe cutter. You will also need the following materials: a whole-house water filter kit and teflon tape.

Difficulty Level:

This project is not for the faint of heart It requires a bit of skill and can take up to a full day to install.

Procedure to Whole-House Installation

The first step is to turn off the water supply line to shop off all water access. The next step is to open a faucet (preferentially from the lowest point of the house) to release and rain the pressure and water.

The point is to drain the system entirely.

The second step is to make two cuts and remove the section of the pipe. This is going to open the space for the placement of the filter.

The third step after cutting the section of the pipe is to attach the fittings. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations to install them correctly, and use Teflon tape so that the seal is tightly fit.

The fourth step is to install the filter. Make sure that you position the filter correctly so that the water flows in through the in port and flows out through the outport, otherwise the filter will not work at all.

Next tighten the nuts. Then, set the filter to the off position and then turn on the main shutoff valve.

The tank will start to fill with water and will begin filtering the water. Check for leaks.

There you go! You have installed the whole-house water filter successfully!
