Parts of a Toilet - Toilet Bowl Part

We continue with our Toilet parts education. Last post we learned about the post of the toilet tank and now we resume with the toilet bowl parts.

Let's get started.

Well first, just to make sure, we identify the toilet bowl. This is the lower part of the toilet unit. It's purpose is to hold water and waste.

The top part of the toilet bowl is the lid. The lid is a cover that goes on top of the toilet seat. The purpose of it is not only for aesthetic reasons. It also helps to make sure kids or pets do not touch or drink the contents of the toilet bowl. This is definitely an important feature, know that kids are super curious all the time.

The rim: The rim of the toilet bowl is the uppermost part of the toilet bowl and it is designed so that as to decrease splashes and also to help with water overflow. A water overflow is certainly an occurrence that no one desires and toilet bowls do their best to minimize such negative experiences.

Seat: The seat of the toilet bowl is designed to make the experience of sitting in the toilet as comfortable as possible. We often not think of this part of the toilet and give it little importance. Yet, without it, using the toilet would not be a very pleasant experience.

Toilet flange: The toilet flange is the fitting that seals the toilet to the floor so that it can connect to the drain pipe. It is hidden from view but it is definitely very important.

Wax ring: This is a gasket or seal that helps to secure the base of the toilet to the flange.

Well, here ends our journey for today. We hope you have enjoyed it!
